Ty Gregory,
Our latest cover girl is definitely not the 'agency
standard' model, but something new, different and unique. Our cover model
refused to take no for an answer in the modeling industry and never gave up. Standing
only but 5'0 tall, Ty Gregory continues to push for and encourage other petite
models to 'fight for their dreams' and to ‘never give up'. She was thrilled to
hear about a size 22 model signing with a top agency as well as the first model
with down-syndrome to walk in NYFW. These stories of 'non-agency standard models'
really are a true inspiration for her personally. She is grateful for models that
have broken barriers in the industry to make a way for other non-industry
standard models. Gregory's love for fashion, modeling and beauty sparked as a
young teenager as she was looking through magazines. She would subscribe to a minimum
of four magazines per year as she would flip through them in her youth. She was
very well-rounded as a girl; she would participate in sports like track,
tennis, basketball and skateboarding. She remained focused on her academics in
school while also participating in many organizations to expand her skill set.
Upon graduation from high school, she earned and obtained a scholarship
and attended Georgia State University. She maintained her grades so she could
benefit from her scholarship throughout her college career. During her college
career, she managed to be involved on campus, hold leadership roles in organizations
obtain internships and work a part-time job. She was determined to build her
resume in college as she worked in many industries to gain experience and skills.
She worked in various fields including but not limited to legal, marketing,
public relations, restaurant marketing. Retail management, beauty/cosmetics,
IT. She graduated with a BBA in Marketing and was offered a management position
with a retail company. She managed operations for multimillion dollar volume
stores.
Her passion, hard work and faith in Christ have allowed her
to continue to follow her dreams outside of her work profession. Although,
Gregory is petite in stature she has had the opportunity to walk the runway in Atlanta
and New York. She even got the opportunity to audition for Naomi Campbell's TV
Show "The Face" while in NYC. Gregory expresses that it was one of the
best experiences that she had. Aside from modeling, she had also ventured into
acting. She has been an extra, featured extra and/or stand-in on movies and TV
shows to gain skills, build her resume and network. She has worked on Taken 3, Selma;
Meet the Browns, Let's Be Cops, Due Date, Complications, Vampire Diaries and
more.
Gregory is not only in front of the scenes but also works
and enjoys being behind the scenes as she has been a key player in projects
such as a celebrity photoshoot, fashion shows, book signings, beauty events,
makeovers for wedding parties just to name a few. Gregory enjoys working with
the youth as she spends her time when she can speak to youth at church events,
schools and etc. She is looking forward to speaking to a middle school
scheduled this early spring. Being active in the community and serving the Lord is ideal
for Gregory as she is a talented, warm-hearted workaholic who seeks opportunities
to break the standard. She loves to travel, embraces diversity and is always
seeking to learn something new. La Beaute Magazine is pleased to announce that
Ty Gregory is our new lead fashion contributor!
